Domaine de Montille is a historic and highly respected Burgundy estate, known for its commitment to purity, finesse and terroir transparency. The domaine has been organic since 1995 and biodynamic since 2005, focusing on low-intervention winemaking and restrained use of oak. While once best known for its reds from Volnay and Pommard, the domaine’s white wines — particularly from Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault — have become increasingly sought-after, admired for their precision, elegance and confidence.

Puligny-Montrachet is one of Burgundy’s most prestigious white wine appellations and widely regarded as the benchmark for fine Chardonnay. The village’s limestone soils and cool climate produce wines known for precision, tension and mineral energy. Expect purity over power: citrus and orchard fruit, floral notes, and a refined structure that allows the finest examples to age beautifully.

"The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Caillerets 1er Cru has a wonderful bouquet that is in a league of its own against four other wines from Caillerets. Life-affirming delineation and mineralité, palpable energy, real race and class. The palate has just a tiny reduction that imparts energy and tension. Linear at first, it goes on and on at the finish, delivering the sapidity to demand another sip a.s.a.p. This is sophisticated and enchanting. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting."

Domaine de Montille

Domaine de Montille is now in its ninth generation under the stewardship of sibling duo Étienne & Alix, who have largely remained true to their father’s vision of creating elegant, pure and balanced wines.

In fact Étienne was instrumental in pushing the sustainability of the Domaine by abandoning all chemical fertilisers and herbicides in 1985 and fully transitioning to biodynamic farming in 2005.
