Collection: Champagne Taittinger

Taittinger has been one of Head Wine Guru Tom’s go-to Grande Marque houses for years — and it’s easy to see why. Still family-run today by Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger and his kids Clovis and Vitalie, the house has been shaping Champagne since Pierre-Charles Taittinger took over in 1932. Based in Reims, they’re all about making wines that showcase the very best of the region — reliable, elegant, and effortlessly drinkable.

The Wine

Taittinger owns 288 hectares of vineyards, some of the largest holdings in Champagne, with a strong emphasis on Chardonnay. This focus gives their wines a fresh, crisp character that we really appreciate.

Their winemaking is carefully handled from hand-harvested grapes to ageing in the cellars, resulting in Champagnes that consistently deliver quality and charm.
Our personal favourites include the Comtes de Champagne, elegant and refined, the Folie de la Marquetterie , richer and very accessible, and even the Brut NV, which punches above its weight for everyday drinking.

Taittinger also takes sustainability seriously, with certifications for eco-friendly vineyard practices and efforts to reduce their environmental impact. It’s good to see a big house making real progress here.
