This stunning Fernão Pires from Casal da Coelheira is simply a brilliant introduction to this lesser known grape variety.

This may be only the third vintage of Fernão Pires but there are decades of wisdom behind the wine, which is wonderfully vibrant, structured and aromatic, with notes of orchard fruits, some citrus and a hint of oak on the finish.

"This is the third vintage of this wine, half barrel fermented in French oak. Powerful and vivid with a lovely spicy edge to the bold pear and white peach fruit, with some citrus brightness. Has lovely intensity with a hint of white pepper and some subtle spicy oak. Superb balance here, drinking beautifully now, but this has some potential for development."
