"A vibrant mix of red and black fruits, lifted by zesty acidity. Chalky minerality emerges clearly on the finish, giving both freshness and drive. Classic Cazetiers energy."
Stewart Pryce, Honest Grapes Wine Club Manager

Domaine Henri Magnien continues to prove why Charles Magnien is firmly established as one of Gevrey-Chambertin’s rising stars. The 2024 vintage is a clear success here, with exceptional definition between cuvées and a masterclass in terroir expression.

The classics shine as ever: Cazetiers and Lavaux St-Jacques deliver depth, structure, and serious ageing potential, while Estournelles St-Jacques offers a more lifted, elegant expression. This is Magnien firing on all cylinders, with wines that reward both immediate enjoyment and long-term patience.

Les Cazetiers is one of Gevrey-Chambertin's most consistently exciting premiers crus — a south-east-facing strip of limestone and clay that sits just below the grand cru belt and regularly punches above its rank.

What the critics say:

94/100 ****Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy

"Bottled a year ago. Fresh purple. The nose is a little reticent but the fruit on the palate bounds out, without showing the heat of the year. All in red fruit, very juicy, cherry and raspberry with the mineral character of Cazetiers at the finish. Perfumed fruit returns behind. *4/5*"

91-94/100 ♥Allen Meadows, Burghound

"Here too moderate wood influence is present on the equally sauvage-inflected nose of red and dark berries, forest floor and a broader array of spice nuances. The richer and more concentrated flavors also display excellent power on the sappy, youthfully austere and equally structured finale that is just a bit more complex. Excellent potential. *Sweet spot* *Outstanding*"

OUR GROWERS

Domaine Henri Magnien

Domaine Henri Magnien is a small, family-run domaine based in Gevrey-Chambertin, now guided by François Magnien, who has steadily built on his father's work with a focus on low-intervention viticulture and restrained winemaking. The domaine farms a tight portfolio of Gevrey appellations, from village wine up through several premiers crus, and is known for producing wines that favour elegance over extraction. They are not the loudest name on the Côte de Nuits, but those who seek them out rarely look elsewhere.

Domaine Henri Magnien is publicly known for practising lutte raisonnée viticulture, minimising chemical intervention in the vineyard. No formal organic or biodynamic certification has been publicly confirmed for this domaine.
