- Chenin Blanc
The 1947 Chenin Blanc is the legacy of Danie Jnr's great grandfather, named after the year the vines were planted, one of the oldest Chenins in South Africa! The nose is redolent of stone fruits, citrus, whilst the palate has incredible tension and vivacity. One of the finest South African Chenins we've tasted.
What our Wine Gurus say
From the second oldest block of Chenin Blanc bush vines in South Africa, Kaapzicht’s 1947 has been a hit at every tasting I’ve brought it too in the last couple of years. The current vintage is particularly focussed and pure but with the richness and textural depth that comes from partial fermentation and ageing in large old oak barrels. This style of world class Chenin is what we have modelled our own IKOYI Helderberg White on"

What the critics say:
"Fragrant and intense nose of mangosteen, yellow nectarines, chamomile and coriander. Some nutmeg and vanilla. Rich and delicious on the palate, with a full body and a long, spicy finish. From the certified second oldest chenin blanc vineyards in South Africa, planted in 1947. Drink or hold."
