Optimal drinking window: Now - 2031
From the northern edge of the Côte de Nuits, Marsannay often flies under the radar, but Edouard Delaunay’s 2018 En Combereau shows just how much potential this appellation has. The vineyard sits on a gentle slope with clay-limestone soils that give both freshness and depth to the wine.
"Red and blue fruits nose, with a touch of earth and Indian spice and brick dust, an arboreal note. Herbaceous lift to the fruit, simple but spicy and well-textured."
Tom, Head Wine Guru
The 2018 vintage was generous and ripe, and you feel that richness in the silky texture and supple tannins, yet the wine still holds on to good energy and precision.
Now available duty paid, 2018 was the first vintage to be offered en primeur from the self-proclaimed “most atypical of the fine wine houses of Burgundy” and we are delighted to be amongst a select handful of merchants to partner with the maison to have done so.
