We’re delighted to open our Burgundy 2024 campaign with a truly exceptional opportunity for Club Members: a special Honest Grapes Club Barrel of Raquillet Mercurey Vieilles Vignes 2024, complete with a bespoke label created exclusively for Syndicate buyers.

Early tastings point to a beautifully classical year — cooler, fragrant, perfumed, elegant, and rescued by low yields. Nowhere is this more deliciously expressed than at Domaine Raquillet, whose wines once again sit among the most joyous and best-value reds in Burgundy.

Critics have long championed Raquillet. Neal Martin has called the Vieilles Vignes “utterly delicious” and one of Mercurey’s star overperformers. William Kelley praises the domaine as “well worth following”, noting its old vines, controlled yields and depth that “distinguishes them from their peers.” And Burghound consistently highlights the domaine’s combination of generosity, structure and sheer drinkability, often ranking the wines alongside 1er Crus from the likes of Armand Rousseau in terms of score.

You can imagine our delight when after a few years of gentle nudging, François Raquillet and daughter Jeanne finally agreed to do a special Tête de Cuvée barrel of their benchmark Vieilles Vignes. In fact the only problem we've ever had with Raquillet is that opened bottles seem to disappear within minutes of opening. BUT we've solved that problem, and for the first time ever, we are able to offer Magnums, at no extra premium.

This is also our most accessible Syndicate yet, offered in 12-bottle equivalent shares. A gorgeous, classical, critic-loved Mercurey from one of the region’s finest growers — and a unique Club bottling to mark a landmark year.
