Mas de Daumas Gassac is the wine that rewrote the rules for the Languedoc. Aimé Guibert planted Cabernet Sauvignon in the Gassac valley in the 1970s when everyone told him the south of France was for bulk production, and the resulting rouge became one of France's cult bottles — sometimes called the Grand Cru of the Languedoc, though that label undersells how singular this place really is.

The blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon with a cast of supporting varieties, all grown on a remarkable glacial flour deposit that keeps the vines cool and the wines finer than their latitude should allow.

OUR GROWERS

Mas De Daumas Gassac

Mas de Daumas Gassac was founded by Aimé Guibert in the early 1970s after geologist Henri Enjalbert identified the estate's extraordinary glacial soils as capable of producing great wine. The domaine is now run by the next generation of the Guibert family, who have maintained both the philosophy and the blend with admirable consistency. They farm without herbicides or pesticides and have long championed the Languedoc's potential for world-class red wine production.

Mas de Daumas Gassac farms without herbicides or synthetic pesticides and has done so for many years. The estate is certified organic. They are also known for their strong stance on preserving the local garrigue landscape and biodiversity around the estate.
