Alain Chavy has quietly become one of the names serious Burgundy drinkers whisper about in Puligny-Montrachet, a village where reputations are made or broken on precision alone. This is village-level Puligny, but it drinks with the clarity and nervy energy that marks out the Chavy style: no shortcuts, no excess oak, just chardonnay allowed to speak in its own, rather exacting, dialect.

The 2020 shows the vintage's generosity tempered by Chavy's characteristic restraint, all citrus zest and stony minerality rather than anything broad or buttery. Patience here is rewarded, as it so often is in this corner of the Côte de Beaune.
