A Siepi Dinner with Giovanni Mazzei

Join us at Upstairs at The Grill in Chester for a special evening celebrating the Mazzei family's Tuscan wines, including two vintages of their vaunted SIEPI supertuscan. Hosted by 26th generation family member Giovanni Mazzei, and Honest Grapes's head wine guru Tom Harrow, we are heading north to a venue that brings a little Manhattan glamour to the historic streets of Chester. Inspired by the great New York steakhouses, Upstairs at The Grill combines classic style with a relaxed atmosphere, and a real sense of occasion.

The aristocratic Mazzei Family boast a winemaking heritage in Tuscany stretching back over 600 years, and includes a famous friendship with US President Thomas Jefferson, who credits the line in The Declaration of Independence, “All men are created equal" to his neighbour in Monticello, Filippo Mazzei. At the heart of the evening is Siepi, the estate’s celebrated blend of Sangiovese and Merlot, renowned for its elegance, depth and character.

Enjoy a four-course Tuscan-inspired dinner accompanied by the wines of the estate, with Giovanni sharing the story behind the family, the vineyards and the making of this remarkable wine.
