Down in Pouilly-Fuissé, we are pleased to report that volumes did not suffer anywhere near as much as they did in the Côte d'Or. More importantly though, the wines were so impressive that we would go so far as to call this the ‘star appellation of the vintage’ - the first time we have said such a thing in our decades of tasting Burgundy from barrel. There was a fruit intensity married to a real tension that made the wines absolutely irresistible.
"Bottled at the end of June. Fruit drawn from across the appellation, and as their only cuvée here, it brings together the best parcels.
Greengage and subtle orchard fruit. They’re happy with the acidity, though another 0.5% wouldn’t have gone amiss. Crisp, friendly and easy to enjoy."
