The Argiano estate develops around the nucleus of buildings, extending across an area of about 125 hectares, occupied by vineyards, olive groves and woods.

"Dried cherries, oyster mushrooms, black olives and citrus oil. It’s full-bodied with sleek, ultra fine tannins and a lifted finish. Layers of sour-cherry, bark and umami notes. Burgundian sensibility with purity and intensity. Wait a few years for this to open up. Drink after 2023."

What the critics say:

96/100James Suckling

"A very fine and polished Brunello with fine, creamy tannins that are polished and very curated. Cherry and bark character. Medium to full body with ripe tannins. Juicy. Orange peel. Try this after 2025, but already delicious."

17.5/20Walter Speller,

"Maturing ruby with bricky rim. A little reductive and embryonic on the nose with only a hint of oatmeal suggesting some new oak came into play. Fragrant cherry fruit on the palate and with long, sandpapery tannins. Great balance and length. Seduces you to think this is ready now, and certainly can be approached, but it will pay off to wait for another year. "

Tenuta di Argiano

Argiano is one of the oldest and most beautiful estates in Montalcino (and was one of the members of the original Brunello Consorzio).

Although the estate is situated in the south of the region which tends to be several degrees warmer than vineyards to the north, the vineyards achieve good elevation and comprise a high percentage of the mineral-rich marl in their clay limestone soil, also found in the hill of Montosoli – Montalcino’s widely accepted “Grand Cru” site.
