Collection: Château Figeac, 2024: Syndicate Barrel

2024 has been a fascinating campaign so far, with market and vintage challenges alike proving difficult to navigate. While some châteaux have struggled, there have been clear highlights, among them our two completed Syndicate barrels: Montrose and Pontet Canet, both undisputedly among the wines of the vintage. We’re now turning to the Right Bank for what may be our most exciting barrel yet...

Our target is Château Figeac, St Émilion’s greatest success story of the past decade, having finally risen to Premier Grand Cru Classé “A” status. Lisa Perrotti-Brown (96–98 points) calls it “an absolute triumph in this vintage”, while Jeb Dunnuck (95–97) describes it as “one of the top handful of wines in 2024”. Antonio Galloni calls it “sublime”, and Jane Anson highlights its consistency across vintages and conditions, noting that Figeac is “an estate to have confidence in”. To offer a Syndicate barrel of Figeac is a major milestone, especially with the wine released at a deeper-than-expected discount to last year.
