Domaine Henri Magnien continues to prove why Charles Magnien is firmly established as one of Gevrey-Chambertin’s rising stars. The 2024 vintage is a clear success here, with exceptional definition between cuvées and a masterclass in terroir expression.

The classics shine as ever: Cazetiers and Lavaux St-Jacques deliver depth, structure, and serious ageing potential, while Estournelles St-Jacques offers a more lifted, elegant expression. But the real curiosity is Gevrey-Chambertin XV – a one-off bottling born from reduced yields, blending fruit from 15 different lieux-dits into a remarkably coherent and charming whole. It’s not a style we’ll see again, and it comes highly recommended.

This is Magnien firing on all cylinders, with wines that reward both immediate enjoyment and long-term patience.

"The 2024 Corton Les Grandes Lolières Grand Cru is one of Magnien's "secret weapons" and frequently punches above its weight. This is no exception with detailed, mineral-driven red berry fruit, beautifully focused and simmering with tension. The palate is medium-bodied with sculpted, edgy tannins, crisp acidity and satisfying backbone with more density on the finish than its peers. Superb for the vintage."
