Careful vineyard management and a return of warm, sunny days in September allowed Ballot-Millot to harvest fully ripe grapes in mid-September. Charles Ballot calls it “a fantastic vintage,” producing wines of balance, freshness, and depth. All whites underwent brief fermentation in steel before barrel aging, while the reds and Premier Crus were handled with precision to highlight site expression. Yields were naturally restrained, giving concentration without excess weight.
The 2024s show Ballot-Millot’s classic style: elegant, expressive, and layered, with bright acidity, precise fruit, and subtle secondary complexity. The whites, in particular, demonstrate a fine interplay of citrus, stone fruit, and toast, while the reds remain restrained yet structured.
What the critics say:
"**** Pale lemon and lime. The bouquet is more reductive but balanced by a fair concentration of chiselled fruit, yet with ripe aromatics. Quite a mouthful here, beautifully saline to finish. Stylish wine with persistence. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Oct 2025."
"The 2024 Meursault Narvaux comes from the lieu-dit of Narvaux Dessus. This was more reductive on the nose at the time of tasting as the lees were still in movement in the tanks. Quite toasty at the moment. The palate is again a bit reductive on the entry, good weight with a keen line of acidity and it feels quite powerful on the finish. It will brighten up after fining. "
