The wait is over. Tignanello 2023 has landed. One of the world’s most iconic wines, Antinori’s flagship Super Tuscan arrives this year from a vintage that has already produced some remarkable bottles, not least the recent 100-point Sassicaia. Early reports suggest Tignanello is very much in that same groove: poised, refined and beautifully balanced. With 98 points Colin Hay calls it “a fantastic vintage… shimmering in its crystalline purity with ultra-fine tannins and staggering complexity.”
Alongside it, we are delighted to offer a brilliant companion wine from the Antinori stable: Badia a Passignano Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2021. The 2021 vintage in Tuscany has been nothing short of superb, and this release has just received its highest score ever – 95 points from Antonio Galloni (Vinous), who calls it “one of the best editions of this wine I have ever tasted.” Rich yet composed, with blue-toned fruit, spice and savoury depth, it is one of the smartest buys in top-tier Chianti today.
We are therefore offering a tied parcel of Tignanello 2023 and Badia a Passignano 2021. One for the cellar, one that will drink beautifully much sooner, both from one of Tuscany’s most consistently brilliant estates. As ever with Tignanello on release, availability is tight and buying online early is strongly advised.
