An action-packed, fast-paced tasting at Domaine Rapet this year. The 2024 vintage was defined by a good September but very small quantities. Sulphur is used only after malolactic fermentation, and the approach here remains resolutely traditional.
The wines show bright acidity, modest extraction and clarity of fruit rather than power. Whites lean towards green apple, fennel and mineral tension, while the reds favour crunch, florality and savoury detail. Nothing feels pushed, and several wines are clearly built for ageing rather than early charm.

"Their holding is not on the sandy bottom section fortunately. A pale crimson, with a fine bouquet of little red fruits, less supple than the Clos du Roi. Attractive nonetheless, fine-grained with just enough fruit intensity at the finish and a fraction more structure than the Clos du Roi. Drink from 2028-2032. *4/5 stars*"
