We were delighted to get Sigaut on the books, having struggled to find a Chambolle Musigny specialist that really excites us.
Anne and Hervé Sigaut kindly postponed relaxing in to the weekend to host us for a tasting at 6.30pm on a Friday. And we are very glad they did. From the village wine right up to the senior crus, the domaine has managed to capture Chambolle’s signature florality and sensuousness.
The grapes are biodynamically farmed, 100% destemmed, and the wines unfiltered and unfined.
What the critics say:
"Attractively fresh aromas of various dark berries, violet and discreet spice wisps introduce racy, delineated and utterly delicious middleweight flavors that conclude in a lingering bitter pit fruit-inflected finale that delivers solid length. This will need to develop better depth to merit the upper end of my projected range."
