Chorey-Les-Beaune Très Vieilles Vignes, Domaine Dugat-Py, 2020

Dugat-Py’s Chorey-Lès-Beaune Très Vieilles Vignes 2020 is a bit of a surprise package – this is not your average easy-going Chorey. From vines planted in the 1920s, it’s a dense, brooding Pinot with layers of black cherry, spice, and that earthy, graphite bite you only get from very old roots digging deep. There’s real structure here too, the kind of grip and mineral drive that sets it apart, yet it still carries a freshness that keeps things lifted and balanced. Definitely one for the cellar as much as the table.

As for the domaine, Dugat-Py hardly needs an introduction – one of Burgundy’s benchmark names, based in Gevrey-Chambertin and farming some of the oldest vines in the Côte d’Or. Everything is organic, yields are tiny, and the wines have a reputation for intensity, longevity, and that unmistakable stamp of terroir.
