Domaine Sipp Mack, Riesling Grand Cru Osterberg, 2015

A Riesling with a bit of swagger. The 2015 Osterberg opens with lime zest, green apple and a flicker of petrol just starting to peek through – classic Alsace. On the palate, citrus peel, white peach, a dash of ginger spice, all bound up in the taut, chiselled acidity you expect from Osterberg’s stony slopes. There’s a savoury, saline undercurrent too, like licking a clean pebble (in a good way), and the finish just sails on and on.
