Resurrected by life-long Burgundy lover Mark O’Connell in 2011 and our dear friend Pierre Meurgey, Domaine Clos de la Chapelle is headquartered at the Chateau de Bligny, owned by Pierre and no less than Dominique Lafon. The talent behind the new Domaine is considerable, and the wines are already getting rave reviews from the likes of Allen Meadows (Burghound), Neal Martin & Jasper Morris.
We were so impressed by the wines after tasting the 2022s and were surprised to hear that they had little presence in the UK, so it is a real pleasure to offer these wines.
"Crunchy green pears, white pepper, camomile, a touch of cereal crops Spicy acids drive grapefruit and orchard fruits, with the merest hint of just ripe peach, extends with saline definition, this shows good drive and tension from start to finish."

What the critics say:
"The 2022 Pernand-Vergelesses Blanc Sous Fretille ler Cru comes from east-facing vines. This charming bouquet has hints of melted wax infusing the green, limey fruit. With fine delineation and focus, the oak is nicely integrated here. The well-balanced palate has a fine bead of acidity, fresh and focused, with a pleasant sappiness and a judicious touch of spice perking up the finish. Recommended."
"Easterly exposition. Silky and bright, cool and zesty. High-energy. Lime-like, straight and pithy. Bright, savory finish. Good value for the quality. 2025–32."
