Ciavolich

Ciavolich is one of Abruzzo's most historic estates, founded in 1853 and now in its fifth generation of family ownership. Under the stewardship of Chiara Ciavolich, the estate has committed firmly to organic viticulture and a focus on indigenous varieties - particularly Montepulciano and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo - farmed with minimal intervention. They are widely regarded as one of the producers doing most to elevate Abruzzo's reputation beyond bulk wine and into the conversation about serious Italian regionality.

Ciavolich has farmed organically for a number of years and is certified organic. The estate is widely noted for its commitment to indigenous varieties and low-intervention winemaking as part of a broader philosophy of working in tune with the land rather than against it.
