The 2017 Les Aigrots Blanc from Domaine de Montille opens with crisp citrus and gentle orchard-fruit aromas, backed by a light floral lift and a hint of almond. On the palate, it’s clean and finely textured, more about finesse than flash, with a mineral backbone that gives the wine shape and energy. The acidity is bright but well-measured, carrying everything through to a long, pure, subtly savoury finish.

Domaine de Montille is one of Burgundy’s most revered estates and this burgeoning family property is very much at the top of its game, producing wines of exceptional quality: scintillating, proper Burgundies, unusually across both reds and whites.

What the critics say:

91/100William Kelley, Wine Advocate

"Aromas of citrus oil, white flowers, green stone fruits and marzipan introduce the 2017 Beaune 1er Cru Les Aigrots Blanc, a medium to full-bodied, racy and precise wine with a fleshy core of delicately sun-kissed fruit. This is a bright, focused Beaune that represents a fine success for de Montille."

OUR GROWERS

Domaine de Montille

Domaine de Montille is now in its ninth generation under the stewardship of sibling duo Étienne & Alix, who have largely remained true to their father’s vision of creating elegant, pure and balanced wines.

In fact Étienne was instrumental in pushing the sustainability of the Domaine by abandoning all chemical fertilisers and herbicides in 1985 and fully transitioning to biodynamic farming in 2005.
