The Hospices de Beaune is one of Burgundy's great institutions, and the Charlotte Dumay cuvée from Corton is among its most storied lots. Named after one of the original benefactors who donated vines to the charity hospital in the 15th century, this is Grand Cru Pinot Noir from one of the Côte de Beaune's most powerful and age-worthy sites. The 2021 vintage rewarded growers who were patient and precise: a cool, slow-ripening season that produced wines of genuine concentration and lift, with a freshness that the warmer years can't always offer.
This particular bottling is released through the annual Hospices auction - one of the most theatrical wine events in the calendar. The result is a wine that carries real Corton authority: dense, mineral, and built to last.
