Celler Alimara Parcel

"I can’t help but envy Andy and Ali McLeod of Celler Alimara. They traded life in Oxfordshire for the sun-soaked hills of Catalonia to pursue their dream of owning a winery, and I fell for their wines eight years ago - not just because they introduced me to the joys of Catalan varieties, but because they were so well-priced I could fill the boot and still have pennies to spare!

So, to help satisfy my craving for a bit of winter sun, I’ve pulled together my three favourites from their range into a brilliant mixed case, built firmly with festive eating in mind. Starting at just £14.70, the Estrelles de Batea Blanc brings bright citrus and pear, a touch of creaminess, and plenty of fruit weight, while the juicy Estrelles de Batea Negre delivers real depth, with cherry and redcurrant notes, fine tannins, and lively acidity to keep everything fresh. I’ve also included the Pinzellada ‘GN’, a 100% Garnacha from 30-plus-year-old vines, packed with macerated dark fruits, hints of fudge, vanilla and cedar - a wine that genuinely evokes fine Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but at a fraction of the price.
