La Giaretta’s I Quadretti Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore 2019 is a textbook example of the Ripasso style, offering depth, richness and approachability in equal measure. It’s made from the classic Valpolicella grapes - Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella - with the wine re-fermented on the skins of the estate’s Amarone to gain extra body, complexity, and that signature velvety texture.

Ripasso is often described as the 'baby Amarone' or 'Amarone’s little brother.' While Valpolicella Classico is light, fresh and fruit-forward, Amarone is powerful, rich, and concentrated (made from dried grapes). Ripasso sits beautifully in the middle: it has more weight, complexity and texture than a Classico, thanks to the Amarone skins, but remains more approachable and versatile than Amarone itself.
