Down in Pouilly-Fuissé, we are pleased to report that volumes did not suffer anywhere near as much as they did in the Côte d'Or. More importantly though, the wines were so impressive that we would go so far as to call this the ‘star appellation of the vintage’ - the first time we have said such a thing in our decades of tasting Burgundy from barrel. There was a fruit intensity married to a real tension that made the wines absolutely irresistible.
"0.5ha within Fuissé itself, northern exposure in the vineyard of Les Gettes. The challenge in 2024 was achieving ripeness, so effeuillage was used to aid drying and prevent disease. Similar ripeness to 2023, but with just a touch more acidity.
Nice stony minerality, good freshness, and reasonable length. Elegant, lifted and quietly refined."
