Haras de Pirque's Albis is the result of an inspired partnership between Marchesi Antinori and Haras de Pirque, where Tuscan heritage meets Chilean terroir. Cabernet Sauvignon brings depth and structure, while Carmenère adds that unmistakable Maipo warmth and spice. The 2016 is sleek and polished yet still true to its Andean roots—blackcurrant, cassis, and graphite layered with herbs and a gentle lift of freshness.
Haras de Pirque is a madly dramatic horseshoe-shaped winery, part Bond villain lair, part equestrian temple. Under Antinori’s stewardship it’s moved firmly into the realm of serious fine wine, but without losing the Chilean soul - generous, sunny, and a little wild round the edges.
What the critics say:
"This has good depth, the tannins and ripe flavors building nicely on the palate with a ton of fresh-blackberry and floral character. Good length for a 2016. A blend of 81 per cent cabernet sauvignon and 19 per cent carmenere."
"Classy, gently perfumed with aromas of ripe blackberries, cassis, earth and fresh herbs. Some incipient complexity and will improve over time."
