Made from old-vine Chardonnay grown on predominantly limestone soils around Meursault’s top lieux-dits, Domaine Dugat-Py's Meursault reflects the village’s signature combination of richness and minerality.
One of Burgundy’s leading domaines, Dugat-Py also boasts one of the region’s most remarkable cellars, originally built in the 11th century for the Abbey of Saint Bénigne in Dijon. Now in the hands of Loïc Dugat, the 13th generation, the estate farms 11 hectares of superbly sited vineyards, with vines averaging nearly 70 years old. Work is meticulous and largely by hand, with some ploughing still done by horse. Certified organic since 2003, Loïc has introduced biodynamic practices across several parcels.
What the critics say:
"Thick and unctuous, the 2020 Meursault Vieilles Vignes exhibits aromas of pear, freshly baked bread, white flowers and mint, followed by a full-bodied, rich and ample palate that's lively and bright despite all its body and texture. It's derived from very old vines in the heart of the village, which explains its broad-shouldered style."
