We are so excited to present for only our second year this wonderful Domaine - Saumaize Michelin. Yet another stand out producer and even in this tricker vintage the wines really are something else! Unsurprisingly I'm not the only one enchanted by this small domaine in the Mâconnais... Neal Martin, Allen Meadows and William Kelley are all worshipping at the altar of Saumaize-Michelin, and it's time we all joined them!
Les Ronchevats has been renamed as Aux Charmes. The vines remain the same and the wine maintains its usual rich, generous style which comes from the deeper, clay soil in this magnificent lieu-dit that nestles in a fold on the hillside just below the village of Vergisson.

"A much different nose displays notes of the phenolic and plenty of petrol character on the nose of apple and lemongrass. There is again excellent intensity and density to the markedly saline-suffused flavors that possess a borderline salty taste, all wrapped in a very dry and youthfully austere finale. This too could use better depth so I would again counsel at least some patience. 'Outstanding'"
"The 2021 Pouilly-Fuissé Aux Charmes, previously labeled Les Ronchevats, has another lively bouquet with red apple, Anjou pear, blood orange and light Vervain scents. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity. There's real tension here with a similar, saline finish as the Les Tilliers. Enjoy over the next decade. "
