A nose of fresh greengage and blossoming orchard fruit is lifted by a gentle smoky note. On the palate, this Puligny shows good intensity, with the elegance and balance you’d expect from a classic medium-bodied expression.
Founded in 1985 by Jean-Marc Boillot — formerly winemaker at Olivier Leflaive Frères — the domaine carries forward a long family tradition of Burgundian viticulture. From an initial 5 hectares, Jean-Marc inherited beautifully placed old vines (even the village-level Puligny parcels are over 60 years old) from his grandfathers Henri Boillot and Etienne Sauzet. Today he works alongside his daughter Lydie and son-in-law François Alzingre.
The wines combine richness and ripeness with restraint: oak use is capped at 30%, ensuring that the hallmark minerality and bright citrus core shine through, balancing the waxy, golden fruit character that defines the house style.
What the critics say:
"Pale colour with a light green tint. A little smoky touch to the bouquet along with a fresh greengage bouquet, good intensity on the palate, a proper backbone, an immaculate Puligny of medium intensity. Drink from 2027-2032. Tasted: October 2023. ****"
