"Immediate intensity on the attack, then turning savoury and structured. Firm tannins provide grip and seriousness, giving this Grand Cru a distinctly gastronomic, composed profile."
Stewart Pryce, Honest Grapes Wine Club Manager

Domaine Henri Magnien continues to prove why Charles Magnien is firmly established as one of Gevrey-Chambertin’s rising stars. The 2024 vintage is a clear success here, with exceptional definition between cuvées and a masterclass in terroir expression.

The classics shine as ever: Cazetiers and Lavaux St-Jacques deliver depth, structure, and serious ageing potential, while Estournelles St-Jacques offers a more lifted, elegant expression. But the real curiosity is Gevrey-Chambertin XV – a one-off bottling born from reduced yields, blending fruit from 15 different lieux-dits into a remarkably coherent and charming whole. It’s not a style we’ll see again, and it comes highly recommended.

This is Magnien firing on all cylinders, with wines that reward both immediate enjoyment and long-term patience.

What the critics say:

95/100Neal Martin, Vinous

"The 2024 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a typically minimalist, strong, crushed rock-infused bouquet that leans more towards black than red fruit at the moment. Very fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with very supple tannins counterbalanced by a silver thread of acidity. Understated, refined, very cohesive towards the finish where it deftly and discreetly fans out. To quote Sade: a smooth operator. "
