The Cerilladas vineyard lies at 1,360 meters in the Gualtallary paraje known as Monasterio, at the foot of the Jaboncillo hills—or “cerrilladas.” Its 30 parcels, framed by native vegetation, respect the natural contours and soils of the site, where caliche and gravel sheathed in limestone dominate under a stark, high-altitude desert climate.

Zuccardi’s story began in the 1960s, when Alberto “Tito” Zuccardi planted vines not to make wine but to demonstrate an irrigation system he had devised. From that practical start, the family has built one of the Southern Hemisphere’s most admired and terroir-driven projects. Today, under Sebastián Zuccardi, the focus is entirely on place—expressing altitude, soil, and climate with honesty and clarity.

As Sebastián puts it: “We are not seeking to make the world’s best wines, but the deepest and purest expression of our place.” These are wines that can stand alongside the finest anywhere, yet they also act as a lens into the stunning, brutal, and breathtaking landscapes of the Uco Valley.

What the critics say:

99/100James Suckling

"Blackberries, bark, terra cotta and graphite on the nose. Full-bodied with tightness and focus. The crunchy fruit is savory and beautiful, with an orange-peel undertone. Very juicy, focused and polished on the finish. Superb tannins. From the parcels of Zuccardi in this appellation. Wow. Wonderful finish."

98+/100Matthew Luczy, Wine Advocate

"Vinified entirely in concrete with 40% whole clusters, the 2021 Finca Las Cerrilladas comes from alluvial soils in the Monasterio section of Gualtallary, featuring sand, calcium carbonate and caliche. It opens with an initially introverted, coiled bouquet that gradually reveals the quintessential herbal, spice-driven and elegantly floral profile characteristic of Gualtallary, delivered with delicacy and subtlety. The palate is sleek, racy, tensile and gently enveloping, transitioning seamlessly to a spectacular, complex and multidimensional finish that balances tenacious grip, alluring nuance, vertical lift and weightless density. I found this to be approaching the same league as the reference-point Piedra Infinita bottlings, a feat all the more remarkable as it is only the third iteration produced so far. My score could be viewed as conservative with a few more years in bottle."
