Optimal drinking window: Now - 2029
The wines from the Pernot family in Puligny-Montrachet are well-known throughout the world for classic Puligny and Bâtard style. They have rich concentration and fruit, but more importantly, good acidity that allow them to age gracefully and harmoniously.
Paul Pernot and his sons produce a range of white and red Burgundies, and are the largest owner of Puligny-Montrachet 1er cru les Folatières. Pernot prefers subtle oak flavours, although he has begun a new system of using more new oak for les Folatières and Bâtard-Montrachet.
What the critics say:
"'Outstanding'. More complex and elegant aromas display petrol, white flower and apple hints. The fleshy, round and seductively textured flavors possess good vibrancy as well as better length on the balanced bitter lemon-inflected finale. This well-made effort should both drink well early but also reward 3 to 6 years of cellaring."
