With the rarity, demand and exceptional standard of the domaine wines produced by this esteemed Burgundy estate, they are often out of reach for many. The Maison Leroy Collection offers a chance for a hand-picked selection of the estate's best, or personal favourites, curated exclusively by Lalou Bize-Leroy herself. Each year, the choice wines are aged at the domaine and released only when they meet the discerning Leroy standards. The range spans from the more humble bottlings to the Grands Crus and each bottle bears the privileged mark of her personal endorsement.
Lalou Bize-Leroy's Burgundy empire, which includes Domaine Leroy and Domaine d'Auvenay, has its roots in Maison Leroy, the original foundation of her wine business. Established by François Leroy in 1868, the négociant operation owned vineyards in Auxey-Duresses, Meursault, Pommard, Chambertin, Musigny, Clos Vougeot, and Richebourg, but the wine was sold through Comptoir des Propriétaires de la Côte d'Or without bearing the Leroy name. François's son, Joseph, expanded the business, and his son, Henri, grew the distilling arm. While in charge, the négociant business continued to operate, but it was Lalou, Henri's daughter, who elevated the Leroy name to the pinnacle of Burgundy wine. Lalou joined Maison Leroy in 1955 and took over the operation from her father in 1971.
Jasper Morris
"20 barrels instead of 50+. Some deeper dark red fruits. A little oak sweetness on the palate. Drink from 2026-2031."
Neal Martin, Vinous
"Fragrant nose with raspberry pastilles and light floral scents. Fine delineation and purity"
Jancis Robinson
"Pale crimson. Sweetly perfumed with quite a dry, firm tannic frame that currently dominates the fruit."
